Quite literally, we want to get inside the jersey to understand what makes a particular design matter to fans and players – and why wearing that jersey makes us much more inclined to scream at the top of our lungs when our team scores a last-minute belter.

A football club like no other

Christiania SC – a football club like no other, representing a community like no other.

In our latest episode of BEHIND THE CHEVRONS, we discuss the power of a football club – its ability to bring wildly diverse people together, providing a common goal that fosters tolerance and understanding. Christiania Sports Club (CSC) is a fantastic example of this. Arguably the most distinctive of hummel’s partner clubs, CSC brings people together from all walks of life, providing a fellowship for many players, who have struggled to settle at more traditional football clubs. Based in the “little hippy village” of Freetown Christiania in central Copenhagen, CSC clearly reflects the community it represents and its nonconformist values.

We’re joined by Carlo Strange – CSC’s deputy chairman and a lifelong Christiania resident – who lets us peek behind the curtain of Christiania, while also explaining various elements of the club's culture through the language of football shirts.
